Control Applications with PME

METSEION7400METSEION7400

This application can provide added benefit to PME users looking for remote operation of controls their system. This application utilizes the digital inputs and outputs available on our ION meters and control objects utilized in the PME Vista Diagrams.

The ION7400 is ideal for this application as it’s a small panel mounter meter, can be installed without displays, and easily fits in existing cabinets, and supports expandable I/O. The ION7400 has 1 onboard form A output for energy pulsing or control, and 3 onboard form A inputs for status. Additional expanders can provide 6 form A in and 2 form C out per expander: up to 4 expanders. Outputs can be configured as a pulse or KYZ output based on application and needs.

The digital outputs can be used to operate your controls to operate devices on your system, and you can use the digital inputs to monitor status to provide feedback to your diagrams that the device operated! The digital inputs to operate quickly, and the time between issuing the command and seeing it update in PME takes 3-5 seconds for ethernet connected devices.

ION meters have several external Boolean and external pulse modules that can be used to control the digital outputs, and these modules can be mapped to control objects within PME. You can also use ION Setup to remote operate devices through ION meters as well. For safety, there is a prompt when pushing control objects in PME and you can setup the object to require password authentication before carrying out the action.
