Hello Experts,
We are trying to integrate our lora iot module to conserve E6436H meter. We captured the register values on the modscan software and accordingly modified our firmware on the lora module. We are using all the parameters as mentioned in the rs485 document with same data type, data value etc. However we are not getting any value on our lora module and we are not sure how to debug. For example on modscan register value 42700 is for total active power. On modscan we see non zero value but same register on our lora module we are getting zero value. So not sure where what's going wrong. Appreciate help.. Thanks

Hello @environics ,
In modbus there are address and registers that use index 1 and index 0. Depending on what your module is expecting you may have an "off by one". Modscan for example when you enter in address holding register 2700, the request on the serial line is for register 2699. Perhaps your module is using the 0 index?

Hello @environics ,
I am not knowable on your lora module. I can just offer basic troubleshooting suggestions. The first suggestion I can offer is to capture and analyze the RS-485 traffic. This may be easier said than done. There are tools out there that can help, for example the product at https://www.iftools.com/analyzer/index.en.php . The challenge is understanding if the lora module or E6436H is the device that is not behaving as expected.

Charles
