There is an option for ION Series Product to have Tropicalised Treatment. However, I am not able to find any officially documentation regarding to the process in "Tropicalised Treatment"
Apart from that, since PM8240 will be the replacement for PM7330 and "Tropicalised Treatment" is not an option for PM8240.
How can we technically convince the customer that PM8240 can be a direct replacement to ION 7330 with "Tropicalised Treatment"?
Kindly Help. Thanks.

We have this same issue for higher end meters like the new PM8000 going into switch boards in very tropical environments.

The key components that may be impacted by heat and humidity are on the meter's measurement printed circuit board. The PM8000 measurement board is treated (tropicalized) to protect against inaccuracy and drift due to environmental influences (ex. humidity.)

James, Shaw,
This question has been coming a few times now. Could you give me more details on the type of application and also how you have so far responded to it?
Is the treatment of the metering board sufficient?
John Straughn answer's explains our current position, but we are always looking for your input on further potential product evolutions.

The biggest application is installations in tropical regions for substations and switch rooms which are non air conditioned or outside altogether. Can get to 90% humidity and over 35 degC regularly in the wet season.
Cheers,
James

Hi John:
We have the same issue with PEMEX; they always ask for protection against salty environments by using epoxy resin coating, does the option tropicalized treatment in ION7650 cover this need?
Do we have a document or certificate to provide to PEMEX? I need this for ION7650 & PM8000.
Thank you very much.

Would you consider the PM8000 "tropicalized" then for customers' understanding?
