Some Questions about DDD analysis
I have some questions about DDD analysis on ION7650 and ION8650 (A, B) meters:
1. I know it works fine for Sag/Swells but ¿what about transients and flicker events? it will work?.
2. I have read about perturbance direction detection. (I,V) analysis for sag swells and (freq) analysis for transients, but I want to know if there is some notes or info related on how this technology is implemented on ION meters. This is important for us in order to argue the customers about his PQ issues using DDD analisys as a conclusion.

The Disturbance Direction Detection (DDD) ION module has 7 trigger inputs. The module assumes that the first 4 are from the SAG module. The transient trigger inputs are optional.
Although transient events can trigger the DDD module to operate and analyse the voltage, current and power waveforms for direction scores, in my experience most sub-cycle fault events are not simply resistive and will result in low confidence DDD scores (ie. indeterminate).
Although it might be possible to trigger DDD from an RVC event, that was not the design nor tested.
