Regarding the "phase reversal" function of PM5300

Hello,

Under what conditions does the alarm function of Phase reversal work?

I am verifying this after being asked by a customer why the alarm does not work even after matching the PM5330 settings and environment.

I set up "CBA" in the phase rotation of the basic setup.

The voltage was then applied in the order L1-L2-L3.

Initially, we expected the alarm to work in this state. However, the alarm was actually non-working. ・・(1)

Then, I changed the basic setup to "CBA" ⇒ "ABC" ⇒ "CBA" and the alarm worked.

After that, the alarm disappears when the PM5330 is turned on again.

(This means that we are back to (1).)

Therefore, I would like to know under what conditions phase reversal works.

Best regards,

Miyai

Hello @Ramasamy_N

Are you able to explain the alarm for the PM5300 series?

We appear to be having a very similar issue with a PM5563 meter sitting at version 4.1.3. Has this been addressed in the PM5300 and the same fix applied to the PM5563?

Hi @DCarlson

This is no known issue in phase reversal alarm feature in PM5563.

Can you share more details about your observation? The PM5563 will trigger phase reversal alarm when the configured phase sequence is not matching with applied input signal.

Ramasamy N

Hi @Ramasamy_N     For PM5563 : After changing the phase sequence and enabling the phase reversal alarm, the alarm appears correctly in the meter. However, after restoring the phase sequence to normal, the alarm does not clear automatically.
The alarm clears only after manually disabling the alarm in meter. Once the alarm is disabled, it will never triggers again, even if a phase reversal occurs in the future.
looking for inputs or a solution to ensure the alarm:
-Clears automatically once the phase sequence returns to normal, and
-Remains active for future phase reversal events.

Please advise on how to resolve this issue.
