PowerLogic PM5100 incorrectly measuring usage?
Hi all -
Sorry I'm not very skilled with technical things; however, I am an owner of a condo in a complex which has my power measured via a PowerLogic PM5100 (unit is about two years old).
For the past seven months, I have been getting meter readings of 1500 kWh plus a month when the average for the previous months/years was < 500 kWh.
I finally had a Sense meter installed on my breaker panel and it's giving me readings in-line with 13 years of historic usage. E.g. PowerLogic will state 1500 kWh vs. 400 kWh on the Sense.
The condo complex admin keeps stating that nothing is wrong with the meter because they had it checked by electricians and I think Schneider but to me it's obvious something is wrong.
We did have the power turned off in my unit and the PowerLogic did correctly register the power as 0.
Is there anything glaring here that could be overlooked? The charges I'm being billed for is killing me.
Can't say too much without more details. Does the Sense meter give you voltage and current readings? If yes, can you compare the voltage and current readings to PM5100?
Wonder if PT or CT ratio on PM5100 meter has changed.
