Hi Andrew,
Your photo shows a PM5500 meter. If this is the case, then it is normal behavior for the IP address to have the exclamation symbols appear. It means that either the meter has not completed writing the address that it received from the DHCP server, there is a problem with the DHCP server, or there is a problem with the static IP address that was entered (perhaps wrong subnet or gateway info).
Normally, if you navigate out of the setup screen then back in again, the exclamation symbols disappear (assuming the IP address is valid). For really old PM5500 firmware, a reboot might be required.
