I have a PM8000 that, when it starts, displays the Schneider start screen, then switches to the normal operating screen. After about 30 seconds, the display goes dark. When displaying the normal operation screen, the status LED is green. When the screen goes dark, the LED switches to what looks like both red/green imbedded LEDs are on, so kind of an orange/amber color. When it does this, the ethernet connection disconnects. When first powered, ION setup can connect to the meter. When the screen goes dark and the status LED changes, ION setup gets disconnected.
I have searched the forums and documentation for a possible 'Master Reset', but the Master Reset listed only clears metered and stored data, not something such as a 'default, out-of-the-box reset'. Since ION setup can only connect about 30 seconds before the meter goes 'haywire', of course there isn't much time to look at it.
Can this issue be resolved without the meter being sent in for repair?

Hi jmitchell
This would be a good topic to go through the tech support channel. If you check the event log of the device, do you see power down/power up events? Is this a remote display?

Sorry to hear this - do you have a channel to request a replacement unit?
Thanks

I did call tech support and the person I spoke with had no idea about the screen going blank nor the 'orange' status LED - had never heard of this issue before.
As stated in my original post, the meter only runs about 30 seconds (after the monitoring screen is displayed) before the test input voltage goes to zero, the display goes blank and the status LED changes to orange - hardly enough time to check much of anything either through the meter display or via ION setup. I have been able to get to the event log via the display and noticed power up/down events, but they only coincide with my powering the device up/down to get it to function long enough to view the display.
Sad day. I needed this for a test-bed meter to work on some MODBUS configurations for a large client. Exploring other options as we can't afford the Schneider price for these little powerhouse devices.

Since we are a Schneider partner (I just found out late yesterday) we are exploring our options. Thanks,
James
