In the PM8000 user manual, there is a reference to the meter having "Extended Waveform Capture" capability. Looking at the Waveform Recorder Modules in Designer, I do not see the settings necessary to configure this. Is this a mistake in the literature or perhaps it was implemented in a later FW version?

The "pre-trigger" and "post-trigger" features were part of the v2.1.0 release

The latest released PM8000 firmware is now v3.0.0.
If you have firmware prior to v2.1, first follow these steps:

Then follow these steps to upgrade to v3

Hi Nicolas
A few notes to hopefully help. First - assuming you have a firmware version > 2.0.0 on the PM8000.
Second, the implementation is the same across PM8000/ION7400/ION9000 etc, so you can find some ION9000 hits on this forum if you search for extended waveform like this: https://community.se.com/t5/Metering-Power-Quality/ION9000-Waveform-capture/m-p/153434
ION Setup also makes this a little simpler too with the wizard if that's an option for you, but you can do it from first principles in Designer for sure.
Hope this helps !
Tom

This must be it, I'm running the simulator with v1.4.3... I'll update and check again, thanks for the help.

Thanks for the help.... does the ION Setup Wizard actually allow for the configuration of this... I was under the impression it did not and you had to use Designer.

Hello @Nicholas_Brown ,
Anything you can do in Designer you can do in ION Setup, Somethings are easy to do with the Setup Assistant, other things require using the Advanced configuration. 2 Differences, a) ION Setup is free, b) User interface is different.

Charles

Thanks Charles, yeah I completely disregarded the abililty to configure individual modules in ION Setup, thanks for the reminder.
