PM5350 error

Hello all

I have a customer using PM5350. The meter recently showed the "wrench" signal, and the hex error code is 0021.

The user manual states that the "wrench" signal indicates that the meter requires attention. However, I couldn't find any information on the error type.

Is there an error code document that can explain the meaning, and what actions to take?

Thank you ~~

Hello Ken,

I checked with our technical team. The error code information is available in Register List (Address 20003 - user notes - bitmap format). . In this case, 0021 hex error code specifies, the measurement input signals are exceeding the direct input limits. Ensure that the connection is within the specified limits for the measurement signal. In the Troubleshooting section of the user guide, it recommends that if maintenance wrench is lit, you should contact tech support and give them the error code and any event messages.

Go to [Maint] > [Diag]. Event messages

display to indicate the reason the icon is

illuminated. Note these event messages and

call the Technical Support or contact your

local sales representative for assistance.

Margie Myers

Hi Margaret,

Thanks for your prompt reply.

I found the 20003 bitmap , as shown below. 0x21 translates to 0010 0001, which corresponds to Bit 01 Summary and Bit 06 Clipping Detected are turned on.  Is that correct?

0 = OK, 1 = Error Detected
Bit 01 = Summary
( on if any other bit is on - Maintenance Icon shown on HMI )
Bit 02 = RAM Failure
Bit 03 = NVRAM Failure
Bit 04 = RTC Failure
Bit 05 = Calibration Failure
Bit 06 = Clipping Detected
Bit 07 = Over-Running Energy Pulse Output
Bit 08-16 Not Used

I assume that "Clipping Detected" indicates that input measurements signals are exceeding the direct input limits. Does it differentiate between voltage and current?

In addition, is there a document that gives a more detailed explanation of the error codes?

Thank you~

Hi Ken, I'm checking again with the technical team for answers to your follow-up question, but perhaps a call to tech support would get you an answer quicker than in this Exchange. The good thing about calling tech support is that the question gets logged as an FAQ and the topic can be searched in the CCC (Customer Care Center) FAQ database. I've sent an email to the offer manager to let him know your request for better documentation on error messages.

Ken, here is the response. He may contact you directly.

Hello Margie,

Please refer my replies in bold.

Hi Margaret,
Thanks for your prompt reply.
I found the 20003 bitmap , as shown below. 0x21 translates to 0010 0001, which corresponds to Bit 01 Summary and Bit 06 Clipping Detected are turned on.
Is that correct? - Yes, Correct.
0 = OK, 1 = Error Detected
Bit 01 = Summary
( on if any other bit is on - Maintenance Icon shown on HMI )
Bit 02 = RAM Failure
Bit 03 = NVRAM Failure
Bit 04 = RTC Failure
Bit 05 = Calibration Failure
Bit 06 = Clipping Detected
Bit 07 = Over-Running Energy Pulse Output
Bit 08-16 Not Used

I assume that "Clipping Detected" indicates that input measurements signals are exceeding the direct input limits.

Does it differentiate between voltage and current?  -There is no differentiation between voltage and current signals.

In addition, is there a document that gives a more detailed explanation of the error codes?
- No.The customer should contact the Schneider tech support team as customer will not be able to act on it expect clipping and over run pulse output errors.

I will make a note about possibly improving our error code documentation. Thank you for the feedback!

Margie
