I have a strange question. At a customer site, I found a PM5000 meter where the Ethernet cable had come out, taking the plastic portion of the port with it. Nothing seemed obviously broken, and we were able to slide it back in to restore communications. However, it didn't click in or anything, and I suspect the next time the enclosure door is opened, it will fall out.
My question is, is this component supposed to be removable? Is there some way to get the port to stay in that we didn't find, or should I advise them to replace this meter? I'm starting to question many PM5000s over the years that have failed to communicate.
Thanks for your help!

Hi @RobGraham,
The PM5000 series Ethernet port is not removable. Perhaps the cable was forcibly pulled out without pushing the Ethernet cable tab down, which may have caused part of the port to be damaged.
Without pictures, it is hard to suggest a solution, but if the cable cannot stay in place properly or if the customer is concerned about it, then the meter will need to be replaced.
Regards,
JD
