My Values for Voltage, Current, and Power Factor are correct, but Power is low

Hi Everyone,

I would like to understand the solution for a low power reading issue. My calculations indicate approximately 1.8 MW, but the meter is showing around 0.633 MW, resulting in low energy readings.

Thanks in advance

Hi @MikeChan

It's very likely that the Phase Order(ABC or ACB) or VT, CT polarities are not correct. You could check and verify this by looking at Phasor Viewer tool using ION Setup:

There is an option to temporarily change Polarity Settings when selecting 'Show Setup' button(image above already selected changed to 'Hide Setup') in case the polarity in the field is not correct.

Best Regards,

-Mehran

Hello @MikeChan ,

Having the total power being ~1/3 of the expected power would strongly suggest that 1 phase is reversed. Getting voltage and current phase angles would be a good first step. If you cannot get that, then a per phase power and signed power factor reading could also help.

Regards,

Charles
