Modbus Communication Issue with Schneider TM200C24R PLC (Inconsistent Baud Rate)

Hello everyone,

I'm working with a Schneider TM200C24R PLC and experiencing an odd issue with Modbus communication. Here's the situation:

• When I set the baud rate to 19200, the connection fails.
• If I switch to 9600, it connects, but I encounter a timeout error.
• After returning to 19200, it works perfectly, and I can send/receive data without any issues.

I’ve checked the following:

• The baud rate, parity, stop bits, and data bits settings match on both the PLC and the communication device.
• Cable and connection integrity seem fine.
• Timeout settings have been adjusted, but no success.

Has anyone encountered this type of issue with the Schneider TM200C24R or any Modbus device? Any help or suggestions would be greatly appreciated!

Is the cable you are using is a sheilded one. Try once connecting with a new cable and check. You can try reading the data by using any converter on both plc and the device. If both of them are communicating through modscan, then try communicating them  again.

Check the data lengths also. Some times if it's a float value and you have given an address which is not available it may throw errors. Try reading one value with one block. If it gets communicating try add the other variables.
