Hi All,
Do we have any information about how much memory is available in PM8000 & ION9000 for ION Framework programming?
Thanks

Hello @Stuart_Cheng ,
The ION7400 message is a little misleading. Each individual data recorder has a maximum size of 10 MB reserved inside meter's non volatile memory. This also applies to PM8000 and ION9000 meters. The meter's total memory is much larger than 10 MB. The meter's .dcf file size is not really a good indicator of how much CPU is getting used or how many of a type of module is inside the framework.
The 2MB suggestion for VIP is in part to keep the VIP still able to process all modules in time. The type of module can influence the file size so 2MB is just approximation.

Charles

Hello @Stuart_Cheng ,
This is a loaded question as there are many aspects to consider. Each module type has a maximum, and there is also CPU capacity. Depending on how the module is connected or setup registers it is possible to change some modules from 1 second update rate to 1/2 cycle update rate. The different update rates would have different amount of CPU loading per module.
If you can give me an idea of what you are looking to do I might be able to help.
Regards,
Charles

Many thanks for your reply.
For VIP, I saw the size limit the about 2 MB for the framework and there is also an annotation in ION7400’s catalog “10 MB for framework”.
So just wondering in addition to saying the maximum number of each type of module, is there also a size limitation for PM8000 & ION9000 ION framework programming?
Thanks
