Can the dual Ethernet ports in the back of the PM5000 or PM8000 be used as an Ethernet switch to transport other protocols? For example let's say there is a PM8000 and downstream from it is a BACnet device. Can we use one of the ports on the PM8000 to communicate ION to the meter itself and use the second port to have the BMS system communicate to the downstream device via BACnet?

Sepehr,
The two (2) Ethernet ports on the PM5000 and PM8000 function as an Ethernet switch and are completely protocol agnostic. You could connect a PC on the second port or other TCP/IP client or server and it would see no difference in network accessiblity.
Regards,
James Clark
