Hi, My customer is questioning if the ION8650 in a 36S base will show all phase related reading similar to a 9S base. I know for a 36S base, the B phase voltage is not wired, but my assumption is the Vbn and kWb will be calculated. Is this correct or are there limitations when placed in a 36S base. Thanks.

Hello @Nicholas_Brown ,
As long at the meter's Volts mode 36S - 4 Wire Wye is selected, yes the B phase voltage and power will be calculated. Vb = -(Va+Vc).
Regards,
Charles

Yes.
The ION8650 in volts mode "36S - 4 Wire Wye" (with 2 PTs) presumes the Zero sequence symmetrical component magnitude = 0.
The meter computes the "B phase" instantaneous voltage (ie. waveform) as Vbn = -(Van + Vcn)
The meter computes the "B phase" instantaneous power as Pb = -(Van x Ib + Vcn x Ib) = Vbn x Ib
