Hello,
I have ion 7650 and ion 7500 connected to spm 7.0.1 with ION protocol.
1. Is it posible to configure the with ION Setup remotly ?
2. both meters doesn't record PQ events, I don't know whay, what does the lerning feature do ?
3. what is the different between ion protocol and modbus when connecting to SPM ?

Hi Yariv -
1.Yes, ION Setup works across a network, but of course, you have to load the address of the meter into it, so it can connect.
2. I think the most common cause of one of these meters not recording an event is due to not configuring the nominal voltage in the PQ section of the meter setup. There's actually 2 places to load the nominal voltage - in the basic meter setup, along with the CT/PT info, and again in the PQ setup. So make sure nominal voltage is loaded into both locations. If this doesn't resolve the issue, I suggest you contact Tech Support.
3.You should always use ION protocol when communicating to ION7xxx meters, since it is the native protocol, and is needed for things such as uploading waveform captures. You should use Modbus for connecting to devices that are native Modbus, such as a PM850 meter. I don't know if you are connecting to the meters using serial or Ethernet, but be aware that if you are using serial, you should not mix ION devices and Modbus devices on the same daisy chain. ION and Modbus protocols don't work well together on the same daisy chain.
