ION 7350 Comm Loss
I'm hoping someone out there might be able to help me with a communication issue I am having with a 12 year old ION 7350. The meter is ethernet connect to a building network and back to a ION 9 Server. It can be pinged and shows as connected in Management Console. The meter can be accessed locally through ION setup via IR and a direct ethernet connection to a laptop. It can also be accessed through the meter's static IP and real-time data can be viewed on the meter's web page. With all that said, the communication issue only seems to exist in PME where Comm loss and Stale Data values appear in the event history along with a Source not connected message when attempting to view real-time measurements. Since this Comm Loss event, I have also noticed that any other Comm Loss event from other meters connected to the system will not appear in the Event History. Power Quality events and other basic events appear though.
Please note that neither the obsolete ION7350 nor the older PME 9.0 are officially supported anymore.
Since the ION7350 can be accessed locally through ION Setup via an Ethernet connection but cannot communicate with the PME 9.0 server, further investigation on the PME server is required.
First ensure that port 7700 is open on PME server. If ION Setup running on the PME server is able to communicate with the meter, it indicates that port 7700 is functioning correctly.
Use the Diagnostics Viewer Tool in PME(Management Console -> Tools > System > Diagnostics Viewer) to check the communication status. Sometimes, refreshing the tree files can help re-establish the communication link.
Please note that, this forum is dedicated to Metering & Power Quality. To get assistance on PME, kindly post your question in the EcoStruxure Power Monitoring Expert forum.
Best Regards,
