I lost energy readings after firmware upgrade with ION Setup (ion 7550)

Hi

I upgraded the firmware of an ION 7550 from V331 to V371s and got this message

firmwar2e_failed.png

After this, i lost all the data from the meter. Like the picture below

firmware_failed.png

Then i send to the meter the template manually selecting these options

firmwar2e_failed2.png

Still my readings where in 0.

Then i realized my mistake so i tried again with none option selected

1.png

But still 0.

What happen?

How can i recover the info from the framework and how can i change the energy readings on the meter's display to match? (client's petition)

First, you should upgrade to the latest version of ION Setup (V3.1 Build 19095.1) which can be found here.

You are presently running a version over 2.5 years old (V3.0 Build 16337).

Tuesday, May 14, 2019 3:25:09 PM: Software Version (Build): 3.0 (Build 16337)

I was able to paste your supplied template to a V374 firmware without any issue with the latest version.

To put the shown energy registers back to the shown values, simply go to the Setup Assistant and go to the Register Edit tab on the Template option as shown below:

Press the Display button to show the Register Editor.

Due to the failed template paste, this will prevent the restoring of the registers you selected the first time (assuming you did indeed checked the boxes).  While these settings are stored in a temporary file, we could of manually edited the registers themselves but since you ran it a second time with options checked, that file has likely been overwritten now.

Usually the temporary file is called IONSETUP1.TMP and is placed in the sub-folder of your TEMP folder (from the Start -> Run, you can simply type %TEMP% and hit Enter and this will open Explorer to that folder).  Scroll though the list looking for an IONSetupX folder (where X is a number, likely 1).  In that folder you should see a IONSETUP1.TMP which if you open up in Notepad, will list out all registers which where uploaded last.

It will look something like:

[Basic Metering Settings]
Register1Handle=0x7800
Register2Handle=0x7000
Register3Handle=0x7001
Register4Handle=0x7002
Register5Handle=0x7003
Register6Handle=0x7A4A
Register7Handle=0x7A4B
Register8Handle=0x7A4C
Register9Handle=0x7801
Register10Handle=0x7802
Register11Handle=0x7803
Register12Handle=0x7804
Register13Handle=0x7805
Register14Handle=0x8E8D
Register1Value=35S - 3 Wire
Register1Class=22
Register2Value=120.0
Register2Class=24
Register3Value=120.0
Register3Class=24
Register4Value=5.0
Register4Class=24
Register5Value=5.0
Register5Class=24
Register6Value=Normal
Register6Class=22
Register7Value=Normal
Register7Class=22
Register8Value=Normal
Register8Class=22
Register9Value=Normal
Register9Class=22
Register10Value=Normal
Register10Class=22
Register11Value=Normal
Register11Class=22
Register12Value=ABC
Register12Class=22
Register13Value=ABC
Register13Class=22
Register14Value=Vector Calculation
Register14Class=22
Register15Handle=0xB931
Register16Handle=0xB932
Register17Handle=0xB933
Register18Handle=0xB934
Register15Value=1.0
Register15Class=24
Register16Value=1.0
Register16Class=24
Register17Value=1.0
Register17Class=24
Register18Value=1.0
Register18Class=24
Registers=18

Anyway, we need to figure out why the template paste failed in the first place (send me the TEMPLATE.LOG file and maybe even the DCF itself) but unless we know what the registers read in the first place, its unlikely we can recover the register readings (if you do know what they are we can manually edit the registers using the Register Edit).  You will also need to figure out why the DCF you are trying to paste is not going onto V371.

Apparently there is no file called IONSETUP1.TMP online empty folders like the picture :

The energy readings are these: the data in the yellow row is the last known information, then it starts again from 0

Here are the template.log and the dcf files. (Info.rar)
