Hello Hideki,

I've reviewed the steps you have taken to upload webpage files on your PM8000 using ION Setup.  The steps look correct to me based on what I've observed personally and what has been documented by our verification team.

At this point, I am not certain what the problem may be.

Perhaps there is an issue with your FTP connection(s).

ION Setup relies on an FTP connection for the transfer of the webpage files.  If, for some reason, your FTP port is unavailable, then ION Setup will not be able to create a connection to transfer the files.

Have you tried to upload your webpage files directly using an FTP client?  WinSCP is an available (and free) tool to use if you need.

1. Connect to your meter’s internal FTP site and open the webpages (web) folder.
2. Navigate to the location on your local machine where you saved the webpage upgrade files.
NOTE: Extract the contents of the upgrade file.

3. Drag the resources and examples folders into the web folder. Confirm to overwrite existing files when prompted.
The files are immediately transferred to the meter.

Please try the approach above and use the FTP client to upload the webpage file(s).

If you are unable to connect via FTP client, then perhaps you have other FTP connections?

Or, perhaps the FTP protocol has been disabled on your meter (check through Setup Assistant > Communications > Advanced Ethernet > Protocols and see that the FTP protocol is enabled and assigned to ports 21 & 20).

I am happy to help out as I can, however, resolution may need to be finalized through our tech support group.  Please try my suggestions above and reply to this post.  I will solicit further help from our support group as required.

Best regards,

Ward

Hello Hideki,

I have found on some occasions that the ION Setup confirmation window "may" open behind other active windows screens.

Perhaps minimize or close other applications to check if the confirmation window has opened behind other windows.

I have some questions to help us understand what is happening with your meter.

1. Are you using the most recent version of ION Setup?  The most recent version is 3.1.19072.01

2. What firmware version was on your PM8000 device BEFORE you upgraded?  I ask this question because we need to determine if you have upgraded your device with the V001.088.000.upg file as a first step.

Please help us to understand some of your symptoms and we can work with you to help find a solution.  Thank you for your patience.

Regards,

Ward

Hello Ward,

I tried to upload again rely on your comment but the result was same.
Unfortunately, I could not find behind or hidden windows.

Please see below answer for your questions.

1. Yes, I use latest version (3.1.19072.01) of ION-setup.
2. My upgrade proceedure is below.
v1.4.0(original) => v1.088.0 => v2.1.0
And then, I tried to upload webpage files after upgrading v2.1.0.
(I did not upload webpage files when upgrading v1.088.0.)

Please let me know if there is anything that concerns.

thanks for your cooperation and kind regards,

Hideki

Hello Ward,

I have solved this problem by your suggestion that send webpage files to PM8240 by FTP tool directly.

However, I don't understand why it could not be done on ION-setup.
Both of my PC and PM8240 had no probrem on FTP port.

I really appreciate your kindly help.

kind regards,

Hideki

ION Setup has an upgrade log in c:\programdata\Schneider Electric\ION Setup (by default). There may be some information in there.

This is defiantly unusual behaviour. If this happens again and you have the opportunity to have the web pages not accessible for a brief time, perhaps contact technical support so diagnostics can be done while meter is in this condition.

By the description you provided you are trying to upload the webpages separately (i.e. not part of the upgrade) using the Web page wizard.

This is NOT part of the ZIP upgrade procedure which is why this won't generate any UPGRADE.LOG entries.

I assume you are NOT seeing a dialog similar to the one shown below after you've selected the ZIP file?

image.png

If not, you might need to look in the SYSTEM.LOG file to see if you see an entry similar to the one below:

Thursday, March 28, 2019 2:32:20 PM: UNZIP, FileName, C:\ProgramData\Schneider Electric\ION Setup\www\ION9000_webpages_000.001.925.zip, ElapsedMs, Compressed file extracted in 1136 ms

Also this procedure will attempt to create a folder located in your TEMP folder, so depending on its location, you hopefully have sufficient access rights to create new folders as it will try to unzip the web pages into that temporary location prior to transfering files.
