Hi Martha,
Looking at the error, it seems the installer didn't operate properly as it seems the ION Setup application was installed into a user location for some reason (looking at the error in the dialog the path for the EXE is located in a user sub-folder).
I would recommend uninstalling first and then manually removing any registry keys found in the HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\SCHNEIDER ELECTRIC\ION Setup location and then attempting to reinstall again.
When installed properly, the application files should reside in the Program Files location (ex. C:\Program Files\Schneider Electric\ION Setup) while writeable files should go into a user-specific folder (ex. C:\Users\XXXXXXX\AppData\Roaming\Schneider Electric\ION Setup).
I'd also recommend you install with a user that has admin privledges.
If you are still having issues, post again or send me an e-mail.

Hi Robert,
I have had a similar issue with Build 12242 and 13080. I am using Win 7 64 bit.
I have uninstalled it once and checked in Registry, but it still came up again in the new clean install?
I have to click Ignore twice and then it will open ION Setup. Then once I sign in as Supervisor and Password, it will give this pop up again.
Any suggestions?
Regards,
Hastak

Hi Hastak,
It sounds since you can get to the login dialog, that there is possibly a corrupted DAT file that is still present even after uninstall (this is due to the fact when you uninstall it still leaves any newly created files left behind). To actually do a complete uninstall, open the registry and find the USERDIR entry in the ION Setup registry location, this will indicate where the DAT files are stored (ex. C:\Users\JoeSmith\AppData\Schneider Electric\ION Setup) and open that location with Explorer.
After the uninstaller has completed, make sure that any files still remaining in that folder are manually deleted and then run the installer again.
If you do find files remain after you uninstall, I'd be interested in seeing these files to see why they are corrupted as I have recently fixed one of the issues which was causing this exact issue.

Thanks for your help Robert.
I checked the directory you mentioned and cleaned up the IONSetup folder in that after the uninstall. But in new install again it gave me same issues and the no. of error pop-up windows actually increased.
And what I noticed as well was my old meter folders and sites still existed. That led me to check the location of Config directory.
So I uninstalled IONSetup again and checked the location of Config Directory and also Program Directory. Deleted the ION Setup folder under both directories completely and VOILA!! it worked. No problems in the new install.
I will put this issue in the local database as well if someone else faces it. However I am not sure if we can implement the clean up of this directory in the UN-INSTALL of ION Setup. I know for Unity Pro, we have a seperate program called Unity Cleaner.
Thanks for your help.
Regards,
Hastak
