We have some PM8's that the customer wants to be informed of when a Sag/Swell Event has occurred. They don't have any Software, so they were wondering if a Sag/Swell Alarm could trigger an output pulse or close the contact on the standard KYZ output build into the PM8s
Thanks

According to the user manual (http://www.naic.edu/~phil/hardware/manuals/PM800UserGuide.pdf) on page 67 it states
Operate any output relays when the event is detected.
It appears that the PM870 may be the only device that will allow you to do a pure Sag/Swell detection for an alarm condition as per the IONSetup Device Configuration Guide Page 39 (http://www.powerlogic.com/literature/ION_Setup_Device_Configuration_Guide_70002-0293-03.pdf)
Incidentally Page 37 of the guide linked above mentiosn how to configure an alarm to use relays. (point 11)
11. If you want to trigger a digital output or relay on an alarm, click the
Output button, select one of the available outputs, then click the button to move it to
the “Selected”column. Click OK
If you do not have a PM870 I tink you could just set an undervoltage alarm which is explained starting on page 37.

I did read the PM8 user guide, but it wasn't too clear on how I needed to do this. The ION setup definitely sets my mind at ease that this is possible. Thank you!
