Can Meter Insight (QR code) bring in Phasor information ?

I don't see that it does this so next question is:  how EASY would it be to add this information into the QR code ?

Presently our meter installers have to validate the meter was wired correctly by connecting to the meter with ION Setup and saving the Phasor plot via a PC.

The QR code would make capturing this important information much easier for them.

Thanks for giving it some thought!

Greg.

Hi Greg,

That's a great question for a very valid use-case.  The QR codes don't presently bring in phasor information; we would need to do a firmware update for adding a new Phasor QR screen and develop the complimentary support in the Meter Insights webservice.  Not trivial but possible

I should highlight that we've actually already built a notification within Meter Insights if the device appears to be mis-wired (by interpreting the PF reading); the user simply has to scan the Info, PQ or Min/Max QR screen.  If you wanted, I would be happy to discuss the value of this existing capability with some installers so that we can confirm if/how to improve it further

Thanks

sam

Thanks for the reply Sam.

We have an existing solution using ION Setup to capture and save the phasor of a meter.

But that requires using a PC & software.

The QR would have been quite elegant if it had the phasor data already in it.

We're good with the software solution.

Thanks again.
