Any LoRaWAN wireless metering connection?
The Hong Kong government has recently been promoting the adoption of digital wireless solutions, with a particular emphasis on the Government-Wide IoT Network (GWIN) which relies on LoRa networks.
However, most of the specifications mandate the use of LoRaWAN-based technology, which unfortunately is not compatible with most of our SE products. Currently, we primarily use Zigbee-based technology.
Given this limitation, we are exploring alternative solutions to meet the LoRaWAN requirement. Do we have any references to use third-party Modbus-to-LoRaWAN gateways to convert meter signals from Modbus/TCP to LoRa at the end devices, transmit the data in LoRaWAN to a gateway/receiver, and then convert the signal back to Modbus/TCP or another common protocol? Such that we could collect meter data as usual at the server level.
We are also open to other suggestions and would appreciate any guidance you can provide on this matter.
