16-32 Load profile Channels with ION Setup

I am trying to configure 16+ load profile channels for an ION8650 in ION Setup and then retrieve them with the reporting tab.  The load profile report defaults to a maximum of 16 channels though-- is there a way to pull the report for more than 16 channels?

Hello @Natalie ,

ION8650 meters support a maximum of 16 channels per data recorder module. Only ION9000.PM8000/ION7400 meters are ION meters that support up to 50 channels with V4.6.0 firmware.

Regards,

Charles

Hi Charles,

If I changed Data Rec 2 from Sag/Swell to be 16 more Revenue log load profile channels, is there a way to view the load profile report for Data Rec 1 and Data Rec 2 at one time? Or a way to choose which Data Rec # the report pulls data from, in ION Setup or PME?

Hello @Natalie ,

PME pulls data from all data recorders unless told to limit specific data recorders, default option is everything on the device. ION Setup, depends what version are where you are looking. Newer versions of ION Setup typically have most default data recorders added to View -> Data Screens -> Data Recorders.

The Setup Assistant -> Reports view is defaulted to only look at specific data recorders. As with many things ION, there may be a way to customize what you see in ION Setup. Where ION Setup is installed (C:\Program Files (x86)\Schneider Electric\ION Setup) there is a folder called Tables. Inside this folder is folders for each device type, PML8650 for example for ION8650 meters. In Each device type folder there is one or more folders for the type of meter and firmware version, example Feature Set A V4.40. Inside this folder is another folder for data recorder configurations and a file QuickION.cfg. You can create custom .pml files to look at a data recorder. Or you can edit the QuickION.cfg file to add additional data recorders.

Note that you should backup any file before making changes. QuickION.cfg files has a section [Reports] where the ION handle of the data recorder can be entered. If you do not know what IOn handle is or where to find, do not edit the QuickION.cfg file.

Tab1Registers=7
Tab1Reg1=10,1,0x0F80,Revenue Log
Tab1Reg1Text=This shows the meter revenue log information.
...

Regards,

Charles
