Schneider Electric, Telemetry and Remote SCADA Solutions Activity has announced the release of  SCADA Expert ClearSCADA 2014 R1, the newest version of our successful SCADA Host software.

SCADA Expert ClearSCADA 2014 R1 is a Major version release, containing new features and product enhancements.

All users upgrading to this release will require a new license file available from customer support. This is required for both server and client upgrades. See the notes available here for further information.

New Product Features

New User Interface

  • ClearSCADA 2014 R1 delivers a completely redesigned User Interface, leveraging the latest technology to improve the user experience and increase overall efficiency. The toolbar has been replaced with a ribbon, including user-customizable quick access functions which put the options you need at your fingertips. We've also introduced a tabbed document interface, adjustable drag-n-drop document layout, user-specific recent document list for easy retrieval, and more. The multi-monitor interface has been completely redesigned, providing support for up to 16 separate displays, and the user interface and communications have been made asynchronous for improved performance.

  • Please refer to the ViewX Upgrade Notes for information of migrating your existing ViewX multi-monitor configuration.

Simplified Development & Maintenance

  • Internal point calculations have been simplified, providing an alternative to the complexity of logic for simple calculations or internal data transfer.

  • A Bulk Editing tool has been included that interfaces with ClearSCADA to simplify mass changes to the database, including template property overrides.

  • Bulk modifications can be made to historic data via new options within the existing ViewX trending interface.

Automated Data Visualization Management

  • ClearSCADA 2014 R1 provides a new data set (like a table or grid) that works with your templates, delivering automated expansion as your database grows. This means reduced maintenance effort for data visualization and reporting. Applications include automated visualization of summary information, from a site, a well, a flow-run, or any template. As new instances are created, the summary information is automatically published.

Enhanced Security

  • Support for firewalls and NAT devices has been increased in ClearSCADA 2014 R1 to give you enhanced security and privacy.

  • Access to the IP Address information of servers, clients and field devices has been restricted, allowing only privileged users visibility to ensure your sensitive information remains secure.

3D Plotting

  • ClearSCADA 2014 R1 adds another dimension to trending, providing a new 3D (X-Y-Z) plot displaying the time/value relationship for multiple points at periodic time intervals. Looking at the data with this extra dimension provides enhanced visualization of the pressure / flow profile in pipeline or liquid distribution applications, simplifying detection of abnormal conditions and enhancing the operation of your system.

Integration Hydraulic Modeling

  • ClearSCADA 2014 R1 delivers close integration with Aquis, an hydraulic modeling tool from Schneider Electric that uses real-time data to analyze and track the current situation enabling operators to make better and smarter decisions. The Aquis UI is integrated right into ClearSCADA, allowing operators to interact with the hydraulic model directly. Data from the Aquis hydraulic simulations are also provided to ClearSCADA, delivering enhanced forecasting and forward-planning capabilities.

Enhanced Connectivity

  • ClearSCADA 2014 R1 continues its close integration with the rest of the Telemetry family, providing support for the new SCADAPack535E Smart RTU, and the SCADAPack50 Wireless Data Logger, plus enhanced diagnostics available from Trio Data Radios via SNMP.

  • ClearSCADA's SNMP driver has been enhanced to Version 3, providing increased data security and privacy via encryption, asynchronous notifications (traps / informs), and simplified configuration.
