Good day
Please assist
Under recommendation tab, DCO reports UPS "the measured load exceeds the total estimated load of connected equipment" I cant begin to think where to start to troubleshoot this issue.
I understand what the error is saying, however not sure where to "look" to solve.
Do i simply increase the estimated load more than measured load?
Please assist.
Regards

A few things to check, between DCO model and the actual rack itself:
1.Compare asset inside the rack in DCO vs actual, see if there is any server not yet modeled, or any extra equipments connected to rack PDU in that rack (I've seen stuff plugged to rpdu from phone charger, portable dehumidifier, etc...)
2. Check adjusted name plate rating of assets in the rack in DCO versus actual asset's power supply rating
3. Check actual rack, see if there any 'cross tapping' of power to the rack PDU from outside of the rack. e.g server from next rack tapping to this particular rack's rpdu or cascaded rpdus from other racks.
4. Check if it is the correct measured rack PDU/BCPM (from DCE/ETL) associated in the DCO's rack PDU

Hi Chris
I found some "gremlins" and also some new servers that we not added to DCO. I have corrected the power (nameplate and adjusted) values - on Monday 25th Feb and still error remains. I have checked and all changes have been applied.
Is there anything else i can try ?
Thank you for effort to assist!
Kind regards

'gremlins', interesting... 😂
I missed out to recommend checking the server to phase (L1,L2,L3) mapping, especially if you are using 3phase rack PDUs, as that may translate to estimated load on incorrect phase of the UPS.
Do set the preference to show all 3 phase in the tool tip at power tab when you moused over a rack / UPS, as that will help you to graphically identify the loading by phase on rack.
As you are looking at UPS level, that means you need to investigate every racks under that UPS, ensuring there is no such recommendations on the rack.
Use the power dependency view in the DCO client to investigate the estimated load, for every racks.
Also ensure you are associating the correct digital power meter or UPS reading for the UPS modle in DCO.
That's pretty much what I'd do.
The link to the recommendation is below.

Gremlins, servers that is connected to external racks and adapters that are plugged in PDUs that are not connected to any equipment LOL!
- server to phase (L1,L2,L3) mapping = I have verified. We are using 3phase and single phase RPDU's
-Tool tip = i have options Custom properties, Recommendations, Alarms and Tags selected. I do not see Power Phase. Should i enable External Systems ? When i mouse over a server, i do see Power connections and I can see phases, L1,L2,L3.
-Ensuring there is no such recommendations on the rack. = I do not have any recommendations on the rack. Recommendation Error is coming from the UPS. Should i compare Estimated load and Measured per rack instead ?
-DCO client to investigate the estimated load, for every racks. = This will take me some time but I will get to it.
Will feedback soonest.
Thank you Chris!

As long as you can see the phase loading when you mouse over, that will help to check which rack to narrow down.
If the message is only on the UPS, perhaps check if you are indeed getting the right reading of UPS associated?
The measured is peak measured for 30 days, which can be changed in preferences for the period.
Alternative:
If you are fairly confident on the measured peak data, especially if you have all measured rpdus, you can use 'predicted power', which is calculated from measured power multiplied by a factor. That might be easier than reviewing every rack's name plate. You can change the min/max factor multiplier to 1, if your DC condition is fairly stable.
Have a look here:

Edit:
Gremlins, servers that is connected to external racks and adapters that are plugged in PDUs that are not connected to any equipment LOL!
Well, that happened :'/

Chris

i found the rack that could be an issue. Its the only rack in our DC that has a negative remaining capacity. I am not sure if it could be an issue. See attached.
I have verified all equipment inside the rack. I have looked at nameplate and adjusted values all seems OK. See below UPS error;
