Hello,
I have a Netbotz 570 which has some NBES0301 fluid sensors and some dry contact sensors.
When I try to create thresholds of these sensors from DCE I cannot see them. What is the way to do this?
Regards,
Enric

Hi Enric,
To configure Netbotz from DCE, go to Device–>Netbotz Appliance Config–>Alert Settings
See picture below.

Hi Chris,
I already knew this way but I want to create a threshold from DCE, to include it into a DCE notification policy. It's that possible?

Hi Enric, To my knowledge, no, it cannot be done via DCE policy. Netbotz will be sending its alarm by itself (and having its alert policy within netbotz), instead of DCE. Chris

Hi Enric,
Chris is correct. This can not be done in a DCE policy and must be configured (either through DCE or Advanced View) on the NetBotz appliance itself.
The NetBotz version 2 and 3 appliances (not the NB200 or AP9361 rack access) were designed on the old NetBotz and NetBotz Central paradigm. This design was based on the idea of the intelligence "on the edge". This was so that there would be no single point of failure. If DCE goes down or loses comm with one or more devices, the devices themselves will still be able to alert for themselves.
Keep in mind that the NetBotz appliance is also able to alert in many more ways than DCE such as output relays etc. Leaving DCE alone to alert would cause the loss of this type of alerting mechanism. Requests such as this have however come to our attention in the past and product management is aware that some customers would rather have DCE alert as it does for SNMP devices that it monitors. This is something that they may consider in the future but as far as I know, there are no current plans to change the way 7.x DCE and current NetBotz offerings work together.
Thanks,
Steve

Hi Steve,
Thanks for your extended explanation. I understand the reason to set the Netbotz thresholds inside the Netbotz. I think it's a good option but also was good to set all in DCE so was more easy to put all devices of a room in maintenance mode, for insteance.
