Where is the documentation for NMC3 config.ini settings located?

I received an email notification at 1:01 am that a site's SMT1500 was compensating for a high voltage.  As per the settings on the NMC3 (AP9640), they would continue every 2 minutes until resolved.

In the past, after showing up to work, I would open my RMM product, connect remotely to the Windows server, log in, open a browser, access the device's NMC, located the Configuration section, and uncheck the email notification (after having received more than 900 in the intervening hours).  I would then wait for the condition to be resolved and then walk through this arduous process to undo it.

Today, I thought I could use EcoStruxure IT Expert to uncheck the email notification.  But no, I was stymied.

Having located the Event code section for the device, I have absolutely no idea what something like "ES,E[:::],T[:::::]" means, nor how to change it.

I've purchased EcoStruxure IT Expert licenses for all my clients' NMC3 cards, and it should allow me to turn off email alerts (every 2 minutes) until the condition clears; however, without knowing what these settings mean - or how to configure them - I still have to remote in to the server, open a web browser, log on to the AP9640, and uncheck a box.  And then repeat the procedure after the event clears.

Can someone tell me where the document for the NMC3 AP964x devices that describes these hieroglyphics  exists?

Can someone also explain why -  in the latter half of 2024 - I must know some arcane command procedure to check and uncheck a GUI box in the NMC via ESIT?

Thanks!

Hi @LarryK,

Information on configuring event actions can be found here: https://community.se.com/t5/ITE-Configuration/Configure-event-actions-for-APC-SNMP-devices-in-IT-Exp...

That help center article calls out FAQ156188 which contains a file that describes the syntax and how to understand it.

NMCs make most of their configuration available via the config.ini file which is interpreted into the interface.  As the config.ini file has event configurations stored in that way, so does EcoStruxure IT Expert by default.  I have submitted a request for enhancing this feature and making it user friendly within the interface.

Kind Regards,

Cory
