Can someone tell me the expected time to format a 1TB usb disk so it can be used as external storage . Customer has a requirement for at least 72 hours of history. Netbotz FW 4.5.1
I believe the screen indicates a minimum of 10 minutes to format once the drive is detected. My experience was when the USB drive was detected it wants to re-boot and re-format. at least that was the options I selected. when we tried this on the 1TB drive the Netbotz re-boots and obviously becomes active as we received active alerts via email. What we could not do was access via Advanced view. I left the unit for approximately an hour and then took the decision to dis-connect the drive. After a short while the netbotz was able to be accessed via Advanced view. I cannot confirm if it re-loaded on dis-connection or it just continued.
Was i premature in thinking the device had hung ? Any indication how long the format operation takes ? Should advanced view be available during format ?
Thanks
Steve

Hi Steve,
NetBotz have not been tested with a terabyte USB drive. It has been tested with sizes around 4 - 6 gig. This is more than enough to store 72 hours of data. I can't say how long a tb drive would take to format or even if the bot can handle something that size.
