I have some rack PDU's reporting to the Austin Hughes IPM softwere. the snmp walk program is not returning any values it says it failed to respond:
but i can run snmp test no issues
when i try to add the device as an SNMPv1 device DCE wont even find it. looking at the logs on the machine, both DCE and the snmp walk program are searching for OID's that don't exist on the device
Has anyone else come across this issue??
TIA
Mike

Dear mike sutton,
Can you describe in more detail which device of what vendor are you trying to add to the DCE software?
In addition, your screenshot has a very small size and a small resolution. Because of this, it's simply impossible to see anything on it. Can you please show us the screenshot with the normal size and resolution?
With respect.

Hi,
I am trying to add austin hughes infrapower manager to DCE but as you can see on this pic DCE is going for OID's that dont exist main pic snmp test ignore the ip its just a loop back on the machine the software is running on. so the OID should start with 1.3.6.1.4.1.36402. but if you look at wire shark you can see when i tried to add it DCE was looking for OID 1.3.6.1.2.1.1.2.0
What im trying to understand is what is telling DCE to start at that OID?
Cheers,
Mike

Dear mike sutton,
In order for the DCE server to know how to communicate with your 3rd party equipment (via SNMP or TCP/IP Modbus protocol), a special DDF-file is required.
Do you have a DDF-file on the DCE server for Austin Hughes IPM equipment?
As far as I know, neither DCE nor DCO software currently not supports Austin Hughes IPM equipment. This can easily be checked with Device Support. Therefore, it's not surprising, that your DCE server simply does not find your 3rd party equipment.
If you have any further questions, please ask.
With respect.
