PM5500 Meters
Hi, Can anyone tell me how many PM5500 meters you can have on a modbus string loaded onto DCE?I have a modbus string with 20 PM5500 meters loaded and they all use the same DDF file. Some meters are showing more values than others and some meters are showing readings that is way off what it should be.

Hi Quinton,
I would like to share my views on your query. I also let other community experts to answer your query.
As far as I know, you can discover the modbus over TCP devices up to 255 in DCE 7.3.1.
However, the limitation on how many devices can be cascaded in the modbus depends upon the gateway or controller of the master which polls the devices/slaves.
I am not an expert in PM5500, but I would like to make sure the following:
- Ensure that the correct Modbus Over TCP DDF file is used which was received from multivendor team.
- Check and Verify if the PM5500 which are showing less values are able to respond to the Modbus polling by using any freeware modscan software. So it is a good idea to use a modscan software to see if the meters which are in question are able to poll to the values which you would like to see in DCE software.
In case of further clarification, please let us know the DCE version which you are using, and share us some screen shots of the device sensor values. Are you using the Modbus RTU to Modbus TCP gateway in between DCE? If so, whats the gateway part number? What is the result of the modbus polling?
Regards,
Bala

Thanks for the response, I figured it out it looks like its firmware that's causing the issue. The meters with the older firmware 2.0.1 are reading fine but the meters installed recently have a firmware version 0f 2.1.0. So will be updating the older ones to see what happens.
