We have several hundred PDU 8853s installed. Monitored with DCE and an over arching 3rd party network management tool constantly pinging device on the network. The data being drawn from this 3rd party network management tool indicates a number of the PDUs sporadically appearing 'offline'. We do not see the the same results from DCE the devices appear to be stable.

Hi jared reed,
An interesting question, but for completeness of information, you must accurately report by what criteria 3rd party network management tool determines that the above rPDUs go offline (the number of unsuccessful pings for how long, etc.)?
Always glad to answer your questions.

Thankyou spezialist,
No, this problem has not been solved.
I am waiting for a report from the network administrators, that will satisfy in detail your original request.
I would have expected that these PDUs would have known issues. We experienced a 13% faulty out of the box scenario indicating that they are not manufactured to the highest quality standards and speaks little for quality control, nor has any warranty been honoured on them due to purchase dates (they were not installed for some time due to contruction constraints.

We have reduced the frequency of the pings the monitoring tool is sending to the PDUs. They appear to have no issue now. The client is satisfied.
