Good day again folks,
A client's netbotz device has just given a ""The device is offline due to a timeout or connection error".
They have DCE 6.1.1.8 and Netbotz Firmware 4.5.3. When on DCE we see that there is no link status but we can ping the device through DCE. We can also view sensor information through DCE though I am unsure how accurate it is due to the timeout.
We've tried rebooting the Unit and within a few minutes the errors come up once more.
We've noticed the time on their datacenter expert is off not synced with the netbotz device and other appliances as their ACs throw random timeout errors then it corrects itself. Could the time de-sync be the main issue?
The client cannot restart their server / fix time etc unless they have clearance to do so.
Please advise.

Hi ieslmarketing
The first thing I would recommend here is to upgrade to the latest version of DCE.
v6.1.1 is at least 6 years old and a lot of fixes and enhancements have been implemented since then.
Your client should contact their local Technical Support to validate their software support contract in order to receive the upgrade links.
Regards

Hi John Thompson,
The issue is arising with our DCE which is 7.4.1 and our netbotz 4.5.2
Any ideas?

Hi ieslmarketing,
You could try putting the NetBotz into POST only mode, which pushes the updates to DCE rather than DCE trying to pull updates. The instructions for POST only mode are in our KBase FA158263.

Will do when I get access to the device to go into it via serial. How does this help with the communications issue?
Timeout image. This is funny because i can see sensor data:
