Netbotz 750 fails to boot

Hey guys, trying to boot the app on a netbotz 750 I keep getting boot errors, they look like this

[ OK ] Reached target Containers.
Mounting /var/volatile...
Starting udev Kernel Device Manager...
[ OK ] Mounted /var/volatile.
Starting Load/Save Random Seed...
[ OK ] Started udev Kernel Device Manager.
[ OK ] Started Load/Save Random Seed.
[ OK ] Started Flush Journal to Persistent Storage.
[ OK ] Started udev Coldplug all Devices.
[ OK ] Found device /dev/ttyS0.
[ OK ] Found device /dev/mmcblk0p9.
[ OK ] Found device /dev/mmcblk0p10.
[ OK ] Listening on Load/Save RF …itch Status /dev/rfkill Watch.
Mounting /opt/netbotz...
Mounting /mnt9...
[FAILED] Failed to mount /opt/netbotz.

ive root password for maintenance

 

How can I proceed to reformat the Netbotz and update the firmware, old data does not need to be saved.

I am having the same problem with my NetBotz 755.

 

Did you eventually find a solution for this?

 

I engaged with Technical support but all the methods they suggested did not work for me.

Hi, Andrés. 

We have the same problem on a Netbotz 755. 

It seems that the file system is damage. 

Do anyone have the maintenence root password?

Support said that we have to run a file check command but it's imposible to run anything without that root passoword.

I faced this issue twice on different instances, the second time was on a NetBotz 750 and even after following all recommended steps to fix this, I could not succeed. I ended up returning the unit to SE and claimed under warranty for a replacement unit.

It would be a good idea to have some mechanism to be able to format and replace the entire contents of the netboz flash from scratch, because this problem is frequent and there is no way for the user to solve it and it always ends in the replacement of the equipment. Thanks.

Can you share the recommended steps to fix the above issue, I am currently waiting for a new SE device warranty but it will take a long time. So I want to do something temporary with this Netbotz device that is having this issue.

Hi Tafadzwa. 

The process of the link is for reset root password and is no applicable to the fail mentioned by @Avila.Andres . When this fails occurs, nothing at all works, because the OS doesn't load. So as I mentioned, we need some process to format an reload the entire flash memory to fix the problem. Regards

Hi @Fgrieco ,

 

That is correct however that was the procedure I was asked to execute by the SE Technical Support after my NetBotz failed however the procedure did not resolve the problem as I could not access the NetBotz via Serial.

I returned the NetBotz to SE.
