Hi All ,
Our customer used DCE monitor Netbotz 200 , due to they have annual maintenance and shutdown the
power in the IT room , our netbotz seems be failure and can't auto re-connect by DCE after power return.
It's need on site to use console to reboot it , then DCE can reach netbotz .
Does netbotz 200 have no auto re-start function ? This issue also happen on two different site .
Pls kindly advise ,many thanks .
Best Regards

Hi Chu,
If the 200 was simply powered off and back on again, DCE should be able to detect it. I would suggest some troubleshooting. An easy test is to simply disconnect the 200 from power and reconnect it. Once the 200 is up and DCE scans it, DCE should show it back on line. If not, try to connect to the web page of the 200. If you can get there, try connecting to the 200 using SNMP as this is the protocol DCE uses for it's communications. If you can get to the 200 via SNMP but DCE can not poll it, right click the device in DCE and choose "request device scan". If it comes back on line, then it likely did not poll the device yet.
If this troubleshooting does not show the same lost comm behavior, perhaps it is something specific to the network or maybe the sequence in which the devices returned to an operational state. It may be more difficult to troubleshoot this. If routers and switches were also taken down during this maintenance period, the proper troubleshooting for this issue would be to replicate the power down and power up of these devices in the same sequence. I'm guessing however that this might not be a desirable option as everything would lose comm for at least a short period of time.
