NetBotz NBWL455 Firmware Upgrade to 4.5.1 & Camera Pod 160 fail

Dear Sir/Madam,

I have recently upgraded some NetBotz (NBWL455, NBRK450) from v4.4.0_20140827_1358 to the latest v4.5.1_20151117_1714 via AV4.5.1 in DCE v7.2.7. The whole upgrade process went okay and once the NetBotz get reconnected, I can see the firmware version is updated to the 4.5.1 as well as the sensor pod 150 Integrated firmware is updated from 0.6.5 to 0.6.9. Unfortunately, I have problems with the Camera Pod 160, the firmware version is still on v4.4.0 and it gave me an error message about "Pod Camera us unplugged or has malfunctioned"

I have tried Appliance Reboot in Advanced View, it actually fixed one of the NetBotz (NBWL455) camera pod, but I still have 2 NBWL455 Camera Pod 160 did not work. I would like to know if there is anything I should try on the system before I go to the site to power cycle the device.

Thanks,

James Rong

Hello James!

Have you tried to re-upgrade the f/w trought the Advanced View?

If you didnt yet, give it a try... if you already tryed, u might save a backup from your alerts and configs, and go for a connection on console, and do the reset process...

I ll look for some references about the reset via console for you.

Edit: The link with instructions for console flashing.

Hi, Emenson,

Thank you so much for your reply. I would like to know how should I re-upgrade the f/w through Advanced View? When I click "Upgrade" in AV, it has detected the firmware is 4.5.1, the Install Component checkbox is greyed out too. If there is a different way in AV to re-upgrade the FW, could you please advise? Thanks a lot

James Rong

Hi James! There is no way to re-uprgade or downgrade Netbotz firmware via Advanced View. You need to flash firmware via tftp, see Emenson's link for details.

Hello James!

Did u managed to re-flash via tftp?

I was checking on my Advanced View and you're right, we cant reflash trought the Adv View.

But via Hyperterminal console following the steps on the link i provided, you'll easly solve that matter.

If u need help, just scream 😂
