This will generate a lot of data as I need to have archives, I am not sure my Infrastruxure central appliance will have the storage for this. can I use a 3rd party program and any ideas of what to use.

Hi Earl, InfraStruxure Central, now StruxureWare Data Center Expert (DCE), does indeed have a capacity ceiling. Only so much can be stored as is the case with any computer. You should also note that DCE is designed to monitor areas where motion is the exception, not the rule. For instance, it is designed to monitor an IT room catch motion when there should be none. It's not designed to monitor a lobby during regular business hours. When used in this manner, the storage capacity is usually less of an issue.
Still, after a period of time in any configuration, storage will fill up. The system will automatically purge itself based on used defined levels. If you need to store the images for a longer period of time, the system has the option for remote storage. Basically you would configure a NAS system and DCE can write it's data to that system. There are pros and cons here. Yes, you can have as much storage as your NAS can provide but at a cost of performance in some cases. Keep in mind that in this configuration, the data / images leaves the NetBotz appliance and is sent to DCE. DCE then sends it all to the NAS. This doubles the network throughput of the data from the NetBotz. Again, under normal configurations this should not be an issue. If you are sending constant images to the server however, that could cause a lot of data to be sent. In such situations, you may need to lower frame rates and resolutions to get the performance you need.
Thanks,
Steve.
