Hello
Our customer install Nbes0301 spot fluid sensor for discover leakage in generator fuel tank but did get alert when was the leakage.
Does this sensor can detect diesel fuel leakage?
Thank you

Hi Aleksey,
This is designed for water leaks. It should work for most anything that allows for a current flow when any 2 of the contacts are set in the liquid but you would need to test for that yourself. It has not specifically been tested with diesel fuel. It will also not work with purified water as the minerals and contaminants that are in unpurified water are what allows for current flow.

Dear Aleksey Kilin,
I very much doubt, that this is a good idea 😀. Since according to the NetBotz Spot Fluid Sensor (NBES0301) Installation Instructions:
The NetBotz Spot Fluid Sensor enables you to monitor a remote location for the presence of any liquid with a resistivity of less than 2 MOhms per cm (including distilled water).
According to, for example, the document Specification of diesel fuel EN 590:2009 (Euro-5) its maximum electrical conductivity should not exceed 50 pSm/m, and ideally should be absent altogether (determined by the IP274 method).
By simple calculations we determine, that the resistivity of 1 cm of diesel fuel should be not less than:
(1 / 50,e-12) / 100 = 200000000 Ohm/cm or 200 MOhm/cm
This means that the above NBES0301 spot fluid sensor can not determine the leakage of diesel fuel. By the way, the same applies to gasoline.
With respect.
