Hi Felix,

RS488 is a modbus communications option so I'm assuming the note about RS232 is also for Modbus.  The device also notes SNMP as an option. Although we do not have an option to monitor a serial modbus device, there is an option to monitor a modbus device using modbus over IP. This would require a gateway such as the TSXETG100. From what I can see that gateway only supports RS232 or RS485 but not RS488. To use these protocols, you would probably want to use the StruxureWare Data Center Expert software.

The other image you posted was a simple normally open or normally closed connection. NetBotz would be the option here. You can use a dry contact cable to monitor the change in state for this  normally open or normally closed connection. If the system has multiple dry contacts, you simply connect multiple dry contact cables. If the device only has a single physical output, I'm assuming that all events on the device will use this connection and the NetBotz device will not be able to tell you what speific alert is happening, just that the device is in alert as sensed by the contact.

How any of this is set up on the device itself would be something you'd have to work out with the manufacturer.

Steve.

Hi Steve, The manufacturer has advised that Rs488 and Rs232 are not for modbus, they are for serial communication. The UPS apparenty doesn't have any modbus connection. I guess now we have NetBotz as the option left, but am not familiar on how to do this. Regards, Felix

Hi Felix, They did note SNMP in the initial screenshots as well. If that too is not something available then yes, dry contacts with NetBotz would be the way to go. Steve
