Our Data Center Expert picks up the hostname for our devices through DNS, but for some reason it still shows just the IP in the hostname column for all but one of our Netbotz. Is there anything I can do to resolve this so DCE shows the hostname on all our Netbotz? DNS reverse lookup is correct.

Hi Dominick,
Good day!
If your DNS server is unable to look-up the IP address of the Netbotz in the list of its entries (to obtain its hostname) this behaviour is expected.
To correct the issue, you can add the IP address of the Netbotz on your DNS server with its set hostname.

Justine, thank you for the reply but I have already stated that DNS reverse lookup is correct. i.e. all the entries for the Netbotz are present and correct, and a reverse lookup on the IP comes back with the hostname.
If DCE isn't able to do a reverse lookup, it appears to only be for all but one of the Netbotz. All our other devices show the correct hostname in DCE. Why would that be?

Hi Dominic,
I apologize because I did not notice that you already checked the reverse lookup. Although that is the case, I personally think that it would not hurt revisiting the list and making sure that the IP address of the Netbotz appliance and its corresponding hostname is listed.
If we are 100% sure that this has been applied, then my suggestion would be finding what makes this Netbotz (the one that is not working) different from the others that are working. It is best to start with the details listed below, and then compare them with the Netbotz that are working as a start:
•Netbotz Model #:
•Netbotz Serial #:
•OS Version/Firmware#:
I hope these help.
Kind regards,
