Hi, I am planning a DC using DCO 8.1. I am trying to import the network layer using excel. I am having problem to connect two PP. I succeeded to connect the first port only. The other ports are ignored. Any idea?

Hi Amit,
As far as I know, excel import does not support patch panel to patch panel connections. I would also like to mention that the excel import has limited functionalities and may overwrite the exciting data!
Kind regards

Jef thanks for your quick answer,
I am aware that this functionality is limited.
I am designing a new DC with a large number of new racks.
I need to prepare the network infrastructure before adding any IT devices.
I should create a full rout from the IT Rack PP to the COR switch.
A manual routing would consume great deal of time.
Is there a way to import network using DCO?

You are most welcome, Amit
In DCO we usually do manual configurations, but as you've mentioned process can be very time consuming. However, for large setups integration through ETL could be considered. Here is a short description about ETL: External system integration through ETL
ETL configuration/integration might be complex and may require programming skills. However, customized ETL integration can also be offered as service - for details you might want to contact Lasse Simonsen. I know, Lasse & the service team having a great experience with customized integration tasks (including network configuration though ETL).
Kind regards

Hi Amit
This has been done for a large Australian corporation. As Jef has advised, Lasse and his team can assist and/or you can get more info from Lukasz Staciwo or myself.
Cheers

Hi,
I have tried using the ETL network example, downloading the excel file, the kjr, ktr, files as well to the pentaho/import directory on the DCO server.
Unfortunately I didn't get any result, at all.
Where's my mistake?
If there is another example of network management and connection I would appreciate if you can share it with me.
Regards,

Hi Amit
The system that we developed included loading rear connections, patch panel to patch panel. but we populate the ETL import DB directly from our program. This was a custom developed an dis the property of the client.
I share this so you know it's possible. As Jef has mentioned, the Excel import is designed for specific use cases.
Let me know if you need more assistance
Cheers
Ed
