Hi,
I have 3 datacenters (they are all interconnected) and I want to monitor them all. Do I need to buy 3 netbotz? Or Can I have 1 primary netbotz and 2 secondary? Can I use one netbotz appliance and 2 NetBotz Rack Sensor Pod 150? Can I connect them throught a switch? What is the best deployment for this case?
Thanks in advance for your help.
Have a nice day

Hi Sylvestre,
The NetBotz 150 pod connects to the NetBotz appliance using a cat-5 cable however it does not communicate over Ethernet. The pod has no IP address. It communicates using a proprietary protocol called A-link based on the can bus topology. Although the pods can be set up a good distance away, it won't communicate over the network or through a switch. If the data-centers are in different cities for instance, you'll need to by each site it's own NetBotz appliance.
The distance A-link will work is up to 100 meters per length (from one pod/sensor to the next) up to a total of 1000 meters as per k-base FA156085.
Thanks,
Steve

Hi Sylvestre BELKOULAYO MBAYHAMNODJI,

Steven Marchetti correctly noted that the limiting factor for you can be the length of the communication line and its type (this should be a copper communication line, not optical). This is the first.
Secondly, it is very important what kind of devices you are going to monitor, how many of them. In addition, it is very important to know whether you will use video surveillance cameras and what their number will be.
Or Can I have 1 primary netbotz and 2 secondary? Can I use one netbotz appliance and 2 NetBotz Rack Sensor Pod 150?
Perhaps, for you it will be possible to do (for example, a small distance between datacenters, a small number of monitoring devices and surveillance cameras, very limited budget, etc.). But think about the reliability of this monitoring system: the monitoring system will depend on the reliability and quality of communication lines and the reliability of only one datacenter, in which the NetBotz main module will be located. And if the connection with only one this data center is interrupted, you will lose monitoring at once all of your datacenters and will not even receive any notification of this incident (because only the NetBotz main module sends notifications).
Therefore, your question is not as simple as it seems, and requires a more detailed examination of your requirements and wishes for the monitoring system of the three datacenters.
Always glad to answer your questions.
