Hi,
I'm having issues adding a Generator Gateway Deepsea 892 into a DCE 7.4.2.
I tried scanning using snmp v1 and v3 with out success.
It simply won´t come up in the application after scan.
In documentation on that gateway shows it support only v2c and I believe DCE only supports v1 and v3.
Anyone had any success adding this controller?

Hi,
I have used this kind of device, and I prefer Modbus request. Because it supports SNMP2C protocol, and the DCE support just SNMP1, SNMP3. So when I connect a genset controller to the DCE with DSE892, I use Modbus based DDF.

Hi Roberto Pereira,
Until you get a normal response from the DSE-892 controller to the snmpget or snmpwalk commands, the DCE-server does not help you. So far the only assistant you can be manual DSE892 SNMP GATEWAY INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS, namely "SNMP GET is not working" section on page 48 this manual.
I tried scanning using snmp v1 and v3 with out success.
Can you show screenshots of what you are doing?
With respect.

Hi,
Thanks to follow up on me.
I haven't had time to write down the procedure we went thru.
I added 15 other devices successfully first SNMPv1 then SNMPv3 those devices.
Will update as soon I can.

Hi, Roberto,
could you solve this issue?
today we received a DeepSea Gateway for testing, and we have the same situation.
Do you think you can share your solution?
Thanks in advance

No. We had to switch to modbus for those units.

Dear Gabor Novak,
As far as I know, if the device, in particular, the DSE-892 supports the SNMP v2c protocol, then it must also support the older SNMP v1 protocol. Hence, we can conclude that the DCE-server should work with the DSE-892 device in any case. But this is only, if the SNMP DDF-file is created completely correctly.
If you have any questions, please ask.

Hi Gabor Novak,
Do you have DSE Generator modbus DDF? Now it is impossible to get a new DDF from Device Support. ☹️
Thanks in advance.

Hi Javier Zurera
Which kind of genset controller do you have? I have DDF files with MODBUS protocol for DSE 335, DSE 7320, DSE 7420
If you go to the device support link you can request this DDF files.

Hi Gabor Novak, we have DSE 7320. We have tried with one DDF from Device Support, but we only see these values:
We have used Deep Sea Generator Lite. Deep Sea Generator (GenComm) does not work.

Hi Javier Zurera
I have attached ver. 9 and ver. 10 DDF version of DSE 7320 genset controller. If I remember ver 9. have I used on different sites.
When you check the alarm configuration section you can see which alarms are configured to this DDF file. (The DDF file contains the sensor readings and the alarms mostly.)
ps. If you can check that the DCE sensor readings are the same as DSE controller shows.

Hi Gabor Novak,
thank you for your information. But the DDFs have been deducted, I do not know why. Can you send them by email to jzurera@swgreenhouse.com?
Thanks in advance.

Hi, Everyone.
We were able to get it to work using MODBUS and get it into production right away.
I can't test suggested steps. If needed I can confirm this controllers works with DCE using MODBUS.
