Hi Team,
We would like to know if you have any guidance for the following environment.
3 of NetBotz 570 integrate with 15 of Pelco Sarix Pro IMP1110-1 to share the video stream to DCE to record with total 15 thumbnail view.
However, this integration comes with the resolution limit up to "640 x 352 (= 0.2 mega pixel)"
We want to record the high resolution, so we think DSSRV can be the alternate solution to record high resolution video stream.
Have any of you implement this kind of combination?
Are there any concern or tuning to make both of them work properly?
best regards,
Yoshi

Hi Yoshi,
Yes, the small JPG image output of the new Sarix Pro cameras is a known issue. That JPG image is all the NetBotz unit can pull from the Pelco camera so that's all DCE will be able to show.
You mentioned the use of the DSSRV. This is indeed the Pelco server storage system for their analog and IP cameras. That would, I assume, be the best option for image storage from the Pelco cameras.
https://www.pelco.com/video-management-solutions/digital-sentry-flexible-video-management
I'm unsure if anyone in this forum would have much experience with that but I will defer to the others reading this to provide that feedback.
If your question however is an integration between the DSSRV and DCE (someone here suggested that may be what you're asking), there is none. DCE can't communicate with the DSSRV, neither can the NetBotz appliances. The only way to get Pelco images into DCE is through NetBotz and there is that known small JPG image issue with the Sarix Pro units.

Steve,
Thank you for the reply. If you are not aware of any co-existence, I would like to know more for the field experience from all, when both NetBotz and DSSRV connect to Pelco cameras at same time.
I just want to correct the information of our environment. 5 of NetBotz 570 integrate with 15 of Pelco Sarix Pro IMP1110-1 to share the video stream to DCE to record with total 15 thumbnail view.
I am not asking much for DSSRV and DCE integration, which might be using SNMP to monitor DSSRV server from DCE. This might be done by DDF.
regards,
Yoshi

Hi Yoshi, The only one thing I will add is that you can only monitor a Pelco camera and get motion from that camera to one NetBotz unit. It will over-write a setting on where the motion alerts should go (which do originate on the Pelco camera). If you try to monitor the Pelco with 2 NetBotz, the second one to register for motion alerts will be the only one to receive them. I have not had experience with the bot and DSSRV but I'm assuming that if they too use this registration field, the last to register will likely be the only one to get the motion alerts. Again, not being familiar with their systems, I am unsure if this will cause any issues but I wanted to give you that extra little bit of info. Steve

Thank you Steve, we set only one NetBotz appliance monitors Pelco cameras. And we follow all the recommendation mentioned in FA167042 in KB. regards, Yoshi

yes Yoshi, I understand you have only 1 NetBotz however if you have a NetBotz appliance and the DSSRV, you now have 2 systems attempting to register and this is the potential conflict to which I was referring. Steve

Yoshinobu, We had the same issue and the final answer was to continue using our netbotz hardware but fully implement the DSSRV solution from Pelco. The best way to accomplish this is with building your own server to meet/exceed their specs, use their free software, and license your cameras. Their client side software works very well, and their backup solution (Pelco Archive Utility) is unique in that it does not replicate, or provide a restore image, for the DSSRV - it creates a secondary video archive with its own player. I love how tunable it is, and I typically run multiple instances every 15 minutes with varying images per second per camera to meet various backup target storage needs and retention requirements. While the integration with Netbotz would be a nice feature, the power and feature set of DSSRV is hard to pass up, and I strongly suggest you call their tech support to talk options if you haven't done so already!
