DCE 7.2.4 VM - can only change network settings via VM console.

DCE VM will not accept network setting changes via desktop client. Is this intended?

Hi Christopher,

Can you advise what network settings you wish to change? The public IP network settings or the network settings on the private network adapter? Is it just the IP address of DCE or all the networks settings?

You should be able to change network settings on the DCE client, although you will get a warning message about updating the Netbotz appliance post settings as the IP address you configured initially on the DCE is used to send alarm data to the DCE server using that IP address.

Regards,

Breda

Hi Breda, specifically its the DNS fields under the Public Lan. I can modify the field and get the warning that the client may restart and the the server may reboot but after accepting that it the client doesnt stop and the server doesnt reboot. If I navigate to another tab and go back to network settings the fields have reverted to the settings configured via the vm console. All other tabs work correctly and the server accepts the change. Its only with network settings that I have to change via the VM console.

I have also tried a manual reboot via the file menu after making the change to see if that will stick the config. It won't.

Hi Christopher,

Thanks for the clarification. When it comes to changing the DNS settings via the DCE client, there is a bug logged on this. It is specific to the DCE VM. On the hardware version the issue is not present when changing the DNS settings.

For the moment the DNS settings for versions 7.2.1 and higher needs to be changing on the VM console. The username/password to this VM console is apcsetup/apcsetup.

Regards,

B

This has been fixed in DCE 7.2.6 which has just been completed and will be announced shortly.

I was also having this problem and was able to change the DNS setting via the console but there is no option to change the Hostname or Domain from the console. Is there a manual way to change the Hostname or Domain, if not, do we have a rough release date for DCE 7.2.6?
I can change the Hostname from the client, but the Domain is still an issue.

Hi Justen, You can contact support today and get 7.2.6. We're still working on officially launching it, but it is technically available now. -Scott
