Is it possible to connect BMC TrueSight Capacity Optimization with DCO in order to get CPU utilisation?

Hi James
Do you want to see CPU Util in DCO or the BMC product?

Ed Tarento In DCO. The data is already in BMC TrueSight Capacity Optimization so rather than duplicating work by using DCO/ITO (plus the issue of credentials and roll out) it would make sense in leveraging the BMC data.

Hi James
There certainly DCO APIs that can be used to bring external data into DCO. I can see where this might have value if u want DCO users to see the CPU Util of a single device. What else were u hoping to achieve by such an integration?

Ed Tarento It was to bring back CPU utilisation from BMC into DCO for the servers that are in BMC. This would mean we wouldn't have to get access to the servers for ITO.
Ideally the CPU data would be brought into DCO and displayed the same way as if it had gone through ITO, not sure if it would display the historical graph.

Hello James.
I agree with Ed's comments. Should be possible to use an ETL import database to bring in CPU utilization data. CPU_utilization is one of the measurement types which is listed in the available input types list.

I agree with Greg. And although u will see CPU Util for a server, I suspect u might not get all of the Many ITO features. Do a test before going too far to see what will and won't be delivered
