Some users have recently been asking me the best way to extract a report of assets in chosen racks.
I can easily do this in the desktop client but most users use the web client. The query tool in the web browser seems to fall short as I cannot use the filter tool to isolate racks, it is not an option. Oddly, location is not an option on the filter list either so I cannot use the 'Contains Value' with the rack name inside the location.
What is the best way for end users using the web client to simply export lists of assets in specified racks?

Hello Nigel, you are correct in that the table (equip browser in the web client) views do not scope down to the rack and rack/location is not part of the filter list.
I will open a feature request for you.
The only work-around I could offer would be to use other filterable features like tags or custom properties for now.
Regards

Thanks Greg, I'll mark that as a 'solution' even if it is a definitive answer that it can't be done right now. I cannot recommend enough this feature as most of my users are only interested in assets and nothing regarding DC management.

Yes, I did create a feature request asking for the ability to filter by rack, and/or have the table view in the rack view limit scope to the racked assets like it does at the room level.
