PowerChute Network Shutdown Integration with DCE

Hi,

base on:

https://community.se.com/t5/EcoStruxure-IT-forum/PowerChute-Network-Shutdown-virtual-appliance-Integ...

there is no possibility to integrate PCNS with DCE but DDF file for PCNS currently exist.

is this mean PCNS can be add to DCE?

Hi @PrzemekSz,

It is possible to monitor a PCNS installation from DCE through SNMP polling.  It will monitor items such as NMC to UPS comms, ports being used, if a shutdown is in progress, and more.

Some screen captures on device sensors and how it would show in DCE can be found here: https://community.se.com/t5/EcoStruxure-IT-forum/PCNS-4-2-and-SxW-DCE-7-4-3-device-quot-model-quot-i...

PCNS can not be integrated into DCE to be able to shutdown DCE.

Regards,

Cory

Hi @Cory_McDonald,

Hoping you can help me out.

First off, I'm a layman when it comes to anything beyond layer 2 in IT. That said, I am doing research for my organization who wants to know if we can configure PCNS through our DCE (on-premise server) when our UPS is getting critically low on juice. We have a Schneider Symetra PX250 UPS with an NMC that is networked (physically connected) to the same network with our DCE and another server that we'd like to receive the PCNS command so it will gracefully shutdown in an impending UPS total backup power depletion. I know there's a lot to unpack there! Sorry. I would appreciate any help, explained for dummies!

Hi @ADNMGR.

You configure shutdown in the PCNS software. DCE can monitor these events only. You cannot use DCE to configure PCNS.

There are user guides for PCNS on this page:
