We are getting the Application load failed error when we open a virtual ViewX sesssion.
Troubleshooting guide says:
Ensure that the ‘Secondary Logon’ Windows Service is set to Manual, this gives the ‘Application Load Failed’ error as it is often the case that a hardening policy disables this service.
On our system it is set to Manual.
I decided to try starting the service myself and then opening Virtual ViewX and it loaded fine.
Anyone know why Virtual ViewX would not be able to cause Secondary Logon to start?
I don't think setting the Secondary Logon Service to Automatically start is the proper solution, even though it will probably work fine if we do that.
This is with Server 2022 and Geo SCADA 2022 (March 2023 update).

The Group Policy method did Correct the problem.
Below is a better detailed description of the problem.
The Virtual ViewX Servers were running Windows Server 2019 and were upgraded to Server 2022.
After that when trying to open Virtual ViewX this message was displayed:
Application load failed: Cannot Execute the application. Error 5: Access is Denied
I found that if I manually started the windows service "Secondary Logon" the virtual ViewX loaded normally.
Eventually I thought to search for this error and Thinfinity VirtualUI and found this page on the Thinfinity's parent website.

They referenced this From Microsoft and used option 1 and we used option 2.

I did find this but we have not gotten to try it yet so i had not posted it. The Administrator is going to try the GPO method that is option 2 of the Microsoft link.

There is usually another message below the 'application load failed' that would give more info about the issue.
If it is "Application load failed - Server disconnected' it could be a permissions issue trying to load the ViewX exe.
In this case, you can try using an admin user in the Application / Credentials tab.
But remember to change back after, and reset the user's login.
If the message is "Application Load Failed - Unspecified error" if can be an issue with the user that initiates the RDS session. This is configured in the 'Sessions' tab. Again the guide suggests trying an Admin too.
I'm very interested in the outcome of the changes in the links above.
It looks like you're using a server in a domain, which does add to the fun and games. Perhaps keeping the VVX server on an isolated non-domain server in a DMZ 'firewall sandwich' is sometimes better.
